About me

We often think that we can manage on our own, but there comes a point when we all need to reach out and seek support.

Perhaps you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed or unable to switch off your thoughts. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of sadness, hopelessness and despair. You may be struggling with self doubt or low self esteem, or burdened by painful memories about events in your past. Perhaps you are finding it difficult to manage your emotions or feel like you’re not quite yourself. Whatever you're feeling — you're not alone.

Counselling offers a safe, supportive space where we can explore what’s going on underneath these painful feelings. Together, we can gently uncover what’s been holding you back so that you can begin to move forward toward clarity, healing and growth, feeling lighter, stronger and more like yourself again.

I am a qualified counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) with extensive experience of helping people who suffer with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, self-harm, relationship difficulties and family conflict.

I offer face-to-face sessions in a warm, private therapy space in Hove or Brighton where we’ll work at your pace, with care, compassion, and no judgment.

If you’ve never had counselling before then finding the right therapist can be confusing and intimidating, so it’s important that you take time to find the right therapist for you. As a first step I offer a free 20-minute telephone conversation or video call where we can find out a little bit more about what difficulties you are experiencing and explore how I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with additional post qualification training and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy, couples counselling and working with trauma.

As well as working in private practice I work with Phoenix Therapy Practice in Brighton & Hove.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
