About me

Hi, I'm Nicola, a qualified CBT therapist with a genuine passion for helping people navigate life's challenges. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported, and I strive to provide a warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

I understand that taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting. You may be wondering whether counselling is right for you or trying to decide which therapist feels like the best fit. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is incredibly important to me, so I aim to create an environment that feels relaxed, friendly and safe from the very first session.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth and collaborative. I don't believe therapy has to feel overly formal or intimidating. Instead, I want you to feel at ease, knowing you can speak openly without fear of judgement. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work happens when trust has been established, and I work at a pace that feels right for you.

Although I am qualified in CBT, my training and experience have also included working integratively. I believe therapy should be as individual as the person sitting in front of me, so I adapt my approach to suit your unique experiences, challenges and goals, using different therapeutic approaches where they are most helpful.

Whether you're experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, my aim is to support you in understanding your experiences, developing helpful coping strategies, and creating positive, lasting change.

Above all, I want you to leave each session feeling listened to, valued, and supported, knowing you don't have to face life's challenges on your own.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
