About me
Hi, I’m Nicola, a person-centred counsellor offering online and in-person therapy for adults and young people.
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, you might not be sure where to begin or how to put what you’re feeling into words and that’s completely okay. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard, without judgement or pressure.
I often work with people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low self-esteem, and emotional exhaustion, particularly those who feel like they’re “holding it all together” on the outside while struggling inside. I also support many young adults who feel stuck, lost or under pressure to have everything figured out. You might be experiencing overthinking, comparison, people-pleasing or feeling unsure about what you want in life. Therapy can be a space where you can start making sense of things.
As a former primary school teacher, I also have a strong understanding of the pressures facing young people, parents, and those working in education or caring roles.
How I work
My core approach is person-centred, which means our work is led by you; your pace, your needs, and what feels most important to talk about.
Alongside this, I work pluralistically. This means we can shape therapy together in a way that suits you as an individual. Some people want a reflective space to explore feelings, while others also find it helpful to bring in practical tools, coping strategies, or different therapeutic perspectives.
We can talk openly about what helps, what doesn’t, and adapt our work as we go. I see therapy as a collaborative process. You’re the expert on your life, and we work together to find what supports you best.
Practical details
I offer online and in-person sessions, short-term or open-ended. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £65.
I’m a registered member of the NCPS and work in line with their ethical framework, with regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
If you’re thinking about counselling, you’re very welcome to get in touch, we can start with a conversation.
