About me
Hi, I’m Nicola, a person-centred counsellor and former primary teacher. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where you can be fully yourself, maybe for the first time in a long time.
People often come to counselling not knowing exactly what to say, just knowing that something feels off. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, low, stuck, or simply exhausted from holding it all together. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
My approach is gentle, non-judgemental, and centred on you. Clients often tell me how powerful it feels to finally speak freely and be truly listened to, not analysed or “fixed,” but understood.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a primary teacher for nearly a decade. That experience taught me so much about empathy, communication, and how early experiences shape who we become. It’s also helped me in supporting young people (from age 11 upwards) as well as adults.
While I mainly work in a person-centred way, my training was pluralistic, meaning we can bring in tools from other approaches like CBT or psychodynamic therapy if that feels helpful for you. Our work is always collaborative and shaped around what you need.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
