About me

Do you find yourself struggling to juggle daily life and navigate relationships? Do you often feel disconnected from yourself and others? Perhaps, there are parts of yourself where finding acceptance and a sense of belonging is particularly challenging. Amidst emotions suddenly becoming too difficult to manage and self-limiting beliefs, you may be feeling stuck, wondering “why is this happening to me?”. As a counselling psychologist, I understand how these and other problems are a natural response, often resulting from difficult life circumstances, which might pose additional challenges on trusting yourself and others.

Training, qualifications & experience

With doctoral-level training and years of experience in NHS trauma, addiction, child & adolescent services, Higher Education, and the third sector, I am committed to consider your unique experience. I work in a specialist NHS service as well as private practice. Having supported children, young people, adults and older adults, I can adapt my approach to be age appropriate. Furthermore, I have a special interest in considering the intersection of adverse childhood experiences, interpersonal trauma and often minoritised identities, such as neurodivergence, ethnic, sexual and gender diversity.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, trauma & emotion-focused therapies, we can decide what can work best to help you now. Together, we can develop a compassionate understanding of your difficulties for healing and change to emerge.

  • Doctorate in Counselling Psychology
  • EMDR Therapy, EMDR Europe
  • Certified Focusing-Oriented Therapist, The International Focusing Institute

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
