Further information
Hi, my name is Neil, I am 51 years old, and I have been qualified as an integrative counsellor for over 10 years.
Prior to my training as a counsellor I worked in engineering for a number of years as a sheet metal worker and welder. I worked as a labourer on building sites.
This changed when I was unfortunate to be involved in an accident where i sustained a head injury. The result of this head injury and the support from professionals with my recovery inspired me to make the decision to retrain as a counsellor.
This experience has left me with an understanding that life can change very quickly, sometimes as a result of our own actions and sometimes not. It has taught me that sometimes we could do with some help or support to get us through these difficult times.
We don’t have to do it on our own!
Since my qualification I have been fortunate to have worked for a variety of establishments providing therapeutic support and guidance to people who have found themselves in some challenging situations.
Treatment for mental health matters. Grief and other challenges we may face in life is not a one size fits all approach. This is because every person is unique, which makes their worries and problems unique too. Counselling is an opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions in an environment where you can feel safe and held as you work towards a better understanding of what you are going through, and hopefully find a solution with new coping mechanisms and strategies.
Being an integrative counsellor gives me the freedom to provide a counselling approach that recognises your individuality and provide a service that compliments you and your needs.
