About me

Making the decision to approach therapy is a positive step. Talking with friends and family is invaluable, but sometimes outside professional help can help you to gain a greater understanding in finding the resources to make those changes. It can also lead to self-discovery and self-awareness to live a more fulfilling life and to have more meaningful relationships. You may be deciding to seek therapy because you are feeling low or in distress, or confused with painful feelings that you do not understand, but you may also be coming from a place of curiosity.

I work in a collaborative way with every person to meet them at their point in their life’s journey. ‘Together we explore’ what you are experiencing – how you feel, what you think, what you think others’ expectations are of who you are, what your attitudes are and how your values may be challenged. So in our work together, you can see yourself with more clearly, enabling you to grow.

I am a Person Centred therapist and work with you at your pace. Seeing you as the vessel and therapy as the journey to help you unravel your narrative. With my passion I will help you explore and understand yourself in both the past and present. We may explore early childhood experience, cultural beliefs, gender restrains or present day difficulties and how they shape your patterns of relating and your sense of self.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, panic attacks, relationships, generational differences, divorce and separation, bullying, career, bereavement, depression, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, redundancy, gender identity, work related stresses and parenting issues. No matter your challenge, I will work with you as an individual in helping you to explore, grow and express to find your true self.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about me. I hope to have the opportunity to learn about you. I offer a free telephone consultation giving as the opportunity to hear and listen to each other, before you make the final decision.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
