About me

Welcome, I'm Fiz. I'm an Integrative Therapist and I work relationally and collaboratively.

You may be here because you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, family/ societal/cultural expectations or navigating a big life transition or loss. It could be that you're struggling to manage work-related stress, relationship difficulties or trying to thrive with ADHD. Perhaps you find yourself returning to ways of coping that no longer serve you, whether that's overeating, drinking, gambling, overspending, hoarding, stepping outside of your relationship or something else.

Who I work with and how I work:

I work with individuals and couples who are looking to better understand themselves, their relationships and the challenges they’re facing. I believe therapy is most effective when insight leads to action. Together, we’ll create a space to pause, reflect and make sense of what’s happening, exploring what may be keeping you stuck while also identifying ways to create meaningful shifts in your life and relationships. My aim is to help you feel clearer, calmer and better able to respond to life in ways that feel manageable and authentic.

While therapy can involve exploring difficult feelings, it doesn't have to feel heavy all the time. Humour and empathy are central to how I work, and shared moments of lightness can be just as healing as moments of depth.

Single Session Therapy:

Single session therapy offers a focused space for individuals who want to explore a specific issue in a more directed and purposeful way. Together, we’ll clarify what feels most important, identify practical next steps, and make the most of one meaningful session to support insight, confidence, and change. These sessions are an hour and 15 minutes in duration and the fee is £95.

Couples Therapy:

I offer couples therapy for partners who feel they have lost their way with each other, whether that looks like distance, repeated arguments, a loss of intimacy, the impact of betrayal, or the quiet drift that can happen in long-term relationships.

I work with couples at many different life stages, including those adjusting to parenthood, navigating the pain or complexity of not having children, rebuilding after infidelity, or simply feeling stuck in patterns they no longer want to repeat.

My approach is warm, thoughtful and honest, creating a space where both partners can feel heard, understood and gently challenged. Together, we look at what has happened between you, what each of you needs, and how you might begin to reconnect, communicate more effectively, and decide what kind of relationship you want to build from here.

Practicalities:

I offer individuals counselling from a warm and inviting room in Bournville, over the road from the train station and with free street parking. I work with couples and individuals from a spacious and welcoming space in Solihull Wellbeing Centre, also with free and easy parking. If you prefer online sessions, I work with clients across the UK, making sessions accessible around busy lives and work commitments. 50 minute Individual sessions are £60, Couples sessions are £80 and 75 minute Single Session therapy is £95.

Taking the first step can feel difficult, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Contact me to arrange an initial session or introductory call, and we can discuss how I can best support you in creating the changes you’re looking for.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Support for Education Professionals
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in education for nearly two decades, supporting both staff and students across a range of roles. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the pressures, emotional demands, and unique stressors faced by those working in education.

I continue to work with teachers, lecturers, school leaders, and education professionals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout, or difficulties maintaining balance alongside the demands of the academic year.

If you work in education, I can support you with:

 - Creating healthier boundaries and a more sustainable work–life balance
 - Managing stress, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion
 - Navigating unstructured time during school holidays
 - Planning for high-pressure ‘pinch points’ in the academic calendar
 - Handling challenging conversations with colleagues, parents, or leadership
 - Managing “back to school” anxiety and transitions
 - Developing confidence and working with imposter syndrome
 - Exploring personal difficulties such as bereavement, ill health, relationship issues, or financial stress

What to Expect From Your First Session
Starting counselling can feel daunting, and it’s completely natural to feel uncertain about what to expect. Your first session is a gentle introduction — an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a working relationship based on trust, safety, and understanding.

You’ll have space to talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping to gain. If you’ve had therapy before, you’re welcome to share what felt helpful and what didn’t, so I can tailor my approach to suit you.

We’ll also talk through confidentiality and practicalities, so you can feel reassured about privacy and professional boundaries. I may ask some questions about your background, current circumstances, and general wellbeing - including areas such as work, relationships, health, or sleep - to help me understand your experience more fully.

Most importantly, the first session gives you a chance to ask questions and see how it feels to talk with me. By the end, my hope is that you’ll have a clearer sense of whether counselling with me feels like the right fit, and leave feeling heard, respected, and understood.
