About me

ONLINE AND TELEPHONE COUNSELLING AVAILABLE

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I appreciate how difficult it can be to take that first step towards Counselling.

Having a safe place with someone who will listen to your needs without judging you can be a powerful way to help you to explore issues that may be troubling you. Counselling can offer you the space and time to explore these difficulties in your life.

I became interested in Counselling after seeking Counselling myself following the death of my father. Counselling supported me at a time when my world fell apart and it was a strong and safe place for me when I didn't feel strong and couldn't feel safe for myself and my family.

I am a qualified Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor working in the Mid Ulster area and I am a Senior Accredited member of the NCS (MNCS, Snr Accredited) and a Registered Member of the BACP. (MBACP)

My Practice is in a rural setting which ensures maximum discretion and confidentiality.

I have undertaken a wide range of training in order that I can offer you counselling which best suits your needs and will support you as you find the best way forward for you, supporting you to make choices which feel right for you.

I have a particular interest in how earlier childhood trauma can impact on us as adults. In particular, I am interested in the link between earlier trauma and the development of physical illness in adulthood.

This interest was sparked due to a desire to make sense of my own background and also due to the number of clients I was seeing who were presenting with physical illness who also had a history of earlier trauma.

It is important that we see the mind and body as one and each are impacted by the other.

I also teach students who are embarking on their journey on the UU Foundation Degree to becoming qualified therapists, as well as supervising students in their training.

Please feel free to contact me for further information or to arrange an appointment.
