About me
Difficult life experiences can leave a lasting mark. You might be feeling anxious, low or stuck, or burnt out from carrying too much for too long. These feelings can linger well after the events themselves, and it isn't always clear why. If you're finding things hard, there is hope, and you don't have to face it alone.
I'm a psychological therapist working with adults who are struggling as a result of what they've been through. Therapy with me is a chance to be truly heard and understood, and to see yourself clearly, perhaps for the first time in a long while. I have a particular understanding of neurodivergence, and warmly welcome neurodivergent adults and parents of neurodivergent children.
My therapeutic approach
My approach is integrative, grounded in person-centered therapy. Research consistently shows that a trusting, supportive relationship is one of the most important factors in whether therapy helps, and person-centered therapy is an evidence-based approach recognised in national guidance.
Alongside this, I draw on approaches from the cognitive-behavioural tradition. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a modern, evidence-based therapy that developed from CBT, and I bring specialist expertise in mindfulness, which has a strong research base for helping people manage stress, anxiety and low mood. Where it feels helpful, I may gently weave these in to help you respond to difficult thoughts and feelings in new ways.
As well as my clinical training as a therapist, I bring a depth of psychological knowledge built over many years of teaching and researching mental health at university, and experience working in the NHS. I'm a Chartered Psychologist, and my doctoral research examined the impact of mindfulness on emotional and social functioning: how we manage difficult emotions, cope with stress and relate to others. This understanding informs all of my work, helping me make sense of what you're experiencing and support you in a way that fits you.
As a neurodivergent person, and a parent of neurodivergent young people, I know first-hand the challenges neurodivergent people and their families can face. I offer a neurodiversity-affirming space where you can simply be yourself.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
