About me

My practice mainly focuses on a trauma-informed, person-centred, psychodynamic approach, where we will spend time exploring the impact of past experiences, exploring unconscious processes, and diving deeper into underlying causes for challenges you are facing. Therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’ model, therefore I will also utilise an integrative approach, incorporating different modalities, skills and knowledge to best fit your needs. Some modalities that I often draw from are the Internal Family Systems model, Solution Focused Therapy, and information related to nervous system regulation.

I have experience working with a variety of mental health challenges. I initially qualified as a licensed counsellor in the US after obtaining my undergraduate degree and master’s degree. In my early experience, I worked with children, adolescents, and families. I then moved to the UK where I have since gained experience providing counselling to adults through their GP surgeries within the NHS, and am currently providing counselling to individuals living with a cancer diagnosis. Additionally, I enjoy working with expats/immigrants, anxiety, trauma, increasing self-confidence and self-compassion.

It is widely proven that a positive relationship between a counsellor and a client is one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic process. I prioritise creating a safe therapeutic environment where you will always be met with compassion, acceptance, and connection to safely explore your emotions. Within our relationship, you are safe to show up as your authentic self.

Because of the importance of the client-counsellor relationship, I offer a free telephone consultation (about 15 minutes) as a chance for us to explore if we may be a good fit, to answer any questions you have, and to discuss what you would like to gain from counselling. I am currently able to provide both short-term and long-term counselling with individuals over the age of 18. This can be provided via video or telephone sessions, depending on your preference. The frequency of sessions (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) can be decided based on your preferences and availability as well.

I believe that therapy should be accessible, therefore fees can be negotiated based on your income and low-income slots may be subject to availability. I am happy to discuss this and any other questions in our free consultation.
