About me
I am an Integrative Counsellor and a qualified Supervisor offering clients 'Person Centred' counselling and psychotherapy, to meet the client's needs in an accepting and non-judgemental environment, where feelings and emotions can be explored. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My services are tailored to assist adults, adolescents and children to explore emotions that may affect their lives, impacting on friendships, family relationships, school, college, university and work. Therapy involves using a non-directive and holistic approach to enable the individual to use their own creative instincts to explore and resolve personal issues. I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Therapy for Children and Families, and enjoy using creative approaches when working with individuals and families.
I am the Founder and Managing Director of Precious Moments & Health Ltd and Precious Counselling and Mentoring Community Interest Company. We provide mentoring and counselling services to organisations as well as personal clients and hope to provide more services within our local community and surrounding boroughs in the near future.
Training, qualifications & experience
After being made redundant from the banking sector after 23 years, I decided to change my profession to become an Integrative Counselor and Psychotherapist. I utilised my Psychology degree knowledge, skills and experience gained throughout the years, to assist me in providing therapeutic support to individuals to enable them to move forward in their lives. I love using creative tools during therapy to assist movement and progress for the client alongside the traditional talking therapy.
I have trained a variety of people within the Corporate, Public & Private sector and mentored adolescence and children for over 20+ years. I have delivered Parenting courses within my local community helping parents to learn strategies to assist them in managing their children's behaviors. I believe in the counselling processes and how it can help people to manage their emotions more successfully but I am also aware that not all young people can relate to this form of support. Therefore, I offer therapeutic mentoring services when working with adolescence with challenging behaviours and play therapy for children and young people. I am also a qualified supervisor.
I utilise my Psychology degree to assist me in using the most suitable approach with my clients, whilst developing an understanding of their individual needs.
As the founder and Director of Precious Moments and Health Ltd and Precious Counselling and Mentoring CIC, we have a team of Counselors and Mentors available to help families within the community and hope to provide more of these services in the future.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
