About me

When we're at a low ebb it can be hard to ask for help. We don't want to be a burden or let others down. Sometimes we push away the people we love. Or we turn to drink or drugs. Part of us knows this isn't serving us but we seem to find ourselves doing it anyway.

I can guide you through this difficult passage toward calmer waters. From this stillpoint we can discover what moves you by locating your internal compass and trusting it to guide you. Slowly but surely you can reorient and navigate once again toward the things that matter most to you.

I'm a BACP-registered counsellor with a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. I work at a residential addiction treatment centre and maintain a private practice in Northampton and London.

My approach is rooted in Psychosynthesis - a depth psychology that works with the whole person: what shaped you, how you live now, and what calls you forward.

I specialize in:

  • Addiction recovery and substance use
  • Major life transitions (career changes, relationship endings, midlife questioning)
  • Loss of meaning or purpose
  • Families affected by addiction

Sessions may include talking, dream work, and guided imagery - using both conversation and imagination to access what words alone can't reach. The work addresses both depth (understanding what holds you back) and height (discovering your potential and purpose).

I also bring eighteen years of experience in 12-step recovery communities, which informs my understanding that recovery is about discovering who you are and who you can become.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
