About me
Hello, my name is Marlene Jenas, I am a person-centred Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a BACP (MBACP) member. Even though specialize in Bereavement Counselling, I have also successfully supported individuals, couples and families for over 12 years. When you decide to engage with me, we can focus on what is pressing for you at that time. This could be a loss through bereavement or other life-changing events. You may find it overwhelming to even look at it alone, and you need someone to listen. Other life challenges include anxiety, depression, stress, low mood, and self-esteem issues. You could also be experiencing a lack of understanding or a rift within a family or as a couple.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and young adults, creating a warm and welcoming environment where I can listen, hear, and validate your unique experiences. Loss can take many forms—whether it's the death of a loved one, a broken relationship, job loss, or abandonment. You might also want to discuss building confidence after significant life changes, such as becoming a new parent or coping with ill health. Life can present numerous challenges that leave us feeling inadequate, anxious, or uncertain.
I understand how overwhelming it can be to face a new day when low mood or depression feels like a recurring theme. It’s not uncommon for these feelings to be linked to past losses. In our sessions, I will take the time to actively listen and engage with you, which is essential to our therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore how life events have impacted you, working to build your inner resilience over time.
With my support, you can learn to accept yourself and recognize that you are enough. We will delve into understanding the roots of your anxiety and feelings of disconnection, helping you cultivate self-forgiveness and deeper self-awareness.
My experience, combined with my compassion, empathy, and patience, allows me to offer unconditional support without judgment.
Society often teaches us negative ways to view ourselves, leading to mental health challenges. Together, we can navigate these stereotypes and labels, helping you rediscover the version of yourself that feels lost.
I provide a safe space where you can eventually share openly, without the need to edit your thoughts and feelings.
Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly, with a focus on what works best for your circumstances.
After your initial contact—via email, text (SMS, WhatsApp), or phone call—I will arrange a free 15-minute consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the counselling process and to address any concerns you might have about starting.
Choosing the right therapist is crucial, and I’m here to support you in that decision. If we agree to work together after our consultation, we can schedule your first session, establishing a consistent day and time for our work together.
We will also discuss the cancellation policy, payment methods, and how we will conduct sessions— via phone, or Zoom.
I look forward to speaking with you soon. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, and I wish you all the best on your journey.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
