About me
Hi my name is Mark Wood. I am a Professionally Qualified Therapeutic Counsellor/psychotherapist
Registered Member MBACP (Accredited status)
I always found it impossible to talk to anyone about what was going on for me. I didn't understand myself so how on earth could anyone else?
Many years ago I eventually plucked up the courage and gave a stranger (counsellor) the chance to help me and it changed my life.
Today I would like to give you that opportunity.
Have you lost your zest for life? Struggling with thoughts/feelings or emotions, maybe wondering what's going on?
Feeling depressed/anxious/angry/sad/stressed or Up & down with your moods? Or don't know what your feeling and don't know why it seems to impact on your life? Having thoughts that you just can't get out of your head?
Struggling with a relationship? wonder what your doing here or trying to find a reason to carrying on?
It is not a nice place to be.
Why not give me a chance to help you try to make sense of what's going on?
I can offer a free 1/2hr assessment meeting to see if you feel we could work together
I specialize in working with Individual Adult Clients and offer long term counselling or short term interventions/support
I have found that experiencing life can be very different.
I feel my own very varied life experiences have given me the ability to understand and empathise with others in a very caring and non-judgemental way.
I'm told by my clients that I am easy to be with, supportive and very understanding.
I have experience working with
- Anxiety
- relationships
- Addictions

Not forgetting the many issues and stresses we face in day to day life, fears about the future as well as the ones from the past stopping us living in the present.
It is my aim to offer support in a non-judgmental manner within a confidential and safe environment to help you explore your concerns
I work from a person-centred approach, In an integrative way and personally tailor it to fit you.
I believe we are all very unique in our own way and can all have very different needs.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
