About me

However you’re feeling, whatever your situation, I offer a safe space to talk openly and in confidence. Perhaps you’re concerned that your problems are simply not worth mentioning. Maybe you’re struggling to voice or describe how you feel. Let’s talk it through together!

I support adults struggling with a broad range of difficult emotions, including stress, anxiety, health anxiety, low self-esteem, sadness, depression, guilt, anger, grief and suicidal thoughts, relating to many diverse situations, such as relationship problems, social anxiety, life-changing events, trauma, loss, bereavement, difficult childhood memories, alcohol misuse, addiction and personality disorders.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I can:

• Enable you to explore and process your feelings.
• Help you to gain a fresh perspective on your situation.
• Assist you in identifying new choices and setting goals.
• Offer you guidance on how to move forward.
• Suggest mind tools for managing and regulating your emotions.
• Help you to uncover your authentic self.

During my life I have transformed from a place of low self-esteem and debilitating anxiety, becoming increasingly self-aware, self-accepting and self-regulating. It’s now my life purpose to offer the benefit of my experience to others. Previously I was a volunteer facilitator for the PeerTalk mental health support charity. Later I was a volunteer counsellor at Harmony, providing affordable counselling to people in the Saint Helens area. In my current private practice I am often approached by clients who feel daunted by NHS waiting times to access mental health services, or previously engaged in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) with limited success.

Finding a counsellor you gel with can be hard! I offer your first in-person session free of charge, so you can see how it feels with no obligation. I'm down to earth and easy to talk to. You are welcome to call me for a quick chat and I’ll answer if I can. Alternatively you can text or email me. I look forward to speaking to you soon.
