Hello, I'm Lyanne.
I specialise in helping clients with Anxiety/Depression & Relationship based issues including: PTSD/Trauma/Panic Attacks/OCD/Phobias & Communication in Relationships.
Choosing a Counsellor can be daunting, so take your time & talk to a few of us to see who you are drawn to. Some of us offer a free consultation so you can check out how it all works & see if you are comfortable. It's normal to feel nervous, but you should find yourself at ease very quickly once you start.
I work with empathy, care and a positive approach to help you make the changes you want - whatever your circumstances. Talking things through can help lift the weight a little and then together, we'll decide on the best way to move forwards.
For those who know a bit about therapy already: I am Integratively trained with a Humanistic view. I often use psychodynamic approaches (exploratory not analytical) and draw from many psychotherapy techniques as appropriate.
In plain English this means I believe that people are capable of figuring out what is troubling them but need support when they get stuck or become overwhelmed (and so seek therapy). I don't give advice but once we've explored the root of the problem I might use or teach you some techniques or work in a way to help you deal with and move past something that is causing you pain.
I'm also a qualified Hypnotherapist so am happy to add this into your sessions to help you relax or explore issues at a deep level. Please ask me about this if it's something you're interested in.

My fees are the same regardless of the methods we use. Whether you simply need to talk things through & be heard, or we include specific techniques to actively resolve issues for you.
We may for example use CBT, NLP, Psychotherapy or Hypnosis techniques as appropriate. You can find more information on the types of therapy I offer on my website.
£45.00 per 1 hour session
£70.00 per session for couples work (up to 1hr 15m)
I co-teach low cost online courses such as: Overcome Anxiety: Join The Anxiety Revolution! with another Therapist & you can use them for guided self help. They include some of our most useful techniques for reducing Anxiety. Just let me know if you'd like a link to them.
