About me

Hello, I’m Lucy, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), and an Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT). I’ve worked in mental health for the last 10 years.

I work across an array of mental health issues including eating disorders, body dysmorphia, OCD, PTSD, low self esteem and other anxiety disorders, and depression. I have worked with people who have long term health conditions, and people who identify as neurodivergent, ADHD, Autism (within a mental health context), and people who experience perinatal and postnatal depression.

I am qualified to work with eating disorders through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Eating Disorder (CBT-ED). CBT-ED, This is a tailored treatment aimed at improving how we view ourselves whilst re-building our relationship with food. I follow the recommended NICE guidelines for treatment which advises participating in up to 40 sessions (if necessary), two sessions per week for the first 2-3 weeks, followed by one session per week subsequently. Experiencing disordered eating, or an eating disorder can be an extremely distressing time for you. Together we can begin to positively change your view of yourself, slowly introducing sustainable habits, and reducing unhelpful behaviours.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) can work for individuals who have experienced loss, divorce, difficult relationships, conflict, and big life changes. I can work with you on difficult relationships to help you understand common themes and issues you might be experiencing with those around you. We can explore why certain relationships can cause your mood to worsen and discuss how utilising people around you can help improve symptoms of depression.

We know a poor view of ourselves can worsen most life experiences, we can work together to lessen this burden and improve your day to day.

I also work for the NHS as a therapist.

Hours

Evenings between 5pm and 8pm.

I offer Video appointments at this moment in time. Telephone appointments are not advised by the NICE guidelines, however the initial assessment can take place over the phone to reduce anxieties.
