About me

Hi, my name is Louise and I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I have experience in private practice and counselling for a bereavement charity and NHS setting.  I am able to help adults over 18 years old with a variety of issues although my areas of interest are bereavement, anxiety and low self esteem.

Are you looking for help with how you are feeling? You may be stressed and experiencing anxiety. Life at times can be challenging making you feel low, overwhelmed and anxious. Counselling can give you the opportunity to gain insight into your thoughts and feelings and learn coping strategies.

I will offer you a safe space to feel comfortable to talk. My aim is to help you feel heard, valued and supported with no fear of judgement.

I work in an integrative way using the models Person-centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These models can be tailored to your individual needs, with the capacity to look at your present, past and help you move forward with your future. My aim is to work collaboratively with you towards your goals that could lead to positive change to how you are feeling.

I offer In person counselling, telephone counselling and Face time counselling.

First Counselling Session

If you decide to go forward with counselling I will read through my contract and Privacy statement (GDPR) and email to you if not having in person counselling. Once returned to me completed and signed, counselling can commence. The first counselling session will be focussed on a assessment of what brings you to counselling which helps me build a bigger picture of your needs.

Please feel free to contact me by telephone or email to see if I am suited to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
