About me

Hello and Welcome, I'm Lisa and I offer Professional Counselling and/or Psychotherapy (CBT) working either Online, by Telephone or Face to Face to Young People 12 + and Adults/Couples from a Private and Comfortable Room in Broadstone, BH18 area in Dorset.

Finding the right person to talk to can seem daunting and you might be feeling overwhelmed or nervous about making the first step, with this in mind I hope to provide you with a friendly introduction to myself and how I work.

I am a Qualified Counsellor with Experience of Working with Young People 12+ and Adults and Couples. Together we can either work Online, by Telephone or Face to Face from my Private Counselling room.
As well as my Private Practice based in Broadstone (Broadstone Counselling) I have also worked as a Counsellor and Supervisor at a local agency working with Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse (H2H), specialising in Trauma.

Before Counselling my back ground was in Primary Teaching and in later years Teaching at a local Secondary school in years 10/11/12&13.

I am able to offer you a safe, confidential space to come in and explore whatever you wish to bring to your sessions, I can be flexible depending on your needs and to whether you feel you require short term or long term counselling.

I have a STRONG BELIEF that we CAN ALL CHANGE and be THAT PERSON WE WANT TO BE!

How I work - My aim in all our sessions whether they be online, by telephone or face to face is to develop a therapeutic relationship to enable you to feel safe enough to explore your concerns and be listened to in a way that may not have happened before. I will offer you the opportunity to discuss your problems with me in a warm, neutral, confidential, non-judgemental environment, enabling you if you so wish, to explore any root causes of painful, negative feelings and thoughts which may then enable you to move on from feeling stuck and enjoy life in a different way.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
