About me
These are uncertain and difficult times. You may be feeling increased anxiety and stress. I provide face to face therapy sessions. Additionally, I also counsel online and via telephone, for you to talk about whatever is troubling you. Please contact me for details.
Hi, my name is Linda. I am a qualified integrative counsellor, registered with the BACP and I provide counselling for adults over 18 years of age in the North East Derbyshire area. I am a genuine and down to earth person and can offer both long and short term counselling, based upon individual needs.
I have a private practice based in Chesterfield, which offers you a confidential safe space where you can explore and share your thoughts and feelings in your own way and at your own pace.
I will offer you the time, privacy and support required to explore aspects of your life you may feel you need to understand better or areas in which you would like to grow. Somewhere you can talk comfortably, knowing that I am impartial and unconnected with your everyday life and as someone with who you can share thoughts and feelings.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have trained and worked as a counsellor within the NHS and Occupational Health Department for over five years.
My approach to working with clients is an integrative one. This means that I believe that every one is individual and different things work for different people. Therefore I adapt my approach to suit the individual I am working with. It is important that the work we do together is beneficial to you and therefore I will be led by what works for you
I am an experienced counsellor and a registered member of the BACP and ensure that the ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy guides my practice. I attend regular on-going supervision for my work in accordance with professional requirements to ensure that I am working with you to the best of my ability.
Additionally, I have extensive experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and have worked within this field for over 16 years.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
