About me

If you are looking to explore something which feels painful, stressful or unclear, you can contact me for a brief initial chat on the phone about what’s troubling you, and to see if you would like to begin therapy with myself. This is provided free of charge.

Talking things through can help you find new perspectives on your life and deepen your understanding of yourself. This can lead to greater choice, empowerment, and an improved sense of well-being.

Experiencing trauma - whether from a single event or something that’s happened over time – can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself and others. You might find that memories, emotions, or physical sensations come up unexpectedly, or that you’re constantly on edge, exhausted, or avoiding certain parts of life just to cope.

Therapy offers a human connection and a deeply supportive space to begin making sense of what’s happened - at your own pace. I can help you to feel more grounded in the present, reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel shut down, and build tools to manage strong emotions or difficult memories.

You may be carrying shame or self-blame after trauma, which can deeply affect your self-worth. In therapy, I could help you to untangle those beliefs, helping you see yourself with more kindness, understanding, and compassion. You don’t have to relive everything or have the “right” words – what matters is that you feel heard, supported, and not alone.

Whether you’re living with anxiety, shame, numbness, or a sense of not feeling “good enough”, therapy can help you move from surviving to living – with more self-trust, clarity, and a renewed sense of your worth.

I offer warmth, acceptance and a calming presence. With the benefit of several professional training courses, I have been awarded a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Psychology, and a Certificate in Advanced Counselling. I have also undertaken specialist training to enhance my work with trauma.

I’ve supported clients across various caring and therapeutic settings, including The Priory and third-sector organisations.

I am very passionate about my work as a therapist. I will walk alongside you as you grow, heal, find clarity, and connect with your own strength.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
