About me

I am a fully qualified counsellor offering counselling services to adults through my private practice. Although I am based in Uttoxeter, all sessions are delivered remotely, enabling me to support adults anywhere within the United Kingdom from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

I qualified as a counsellor from Birmingham City University in 2022 and have been practising since then. Throughout my career, I have supported children, young people and adults experiencing a range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their thoughts and feelings.

I work with individuals on a range of issues, offering both short-term and long-term therapeutic support.

I can offer appointments Monday to Thursday evenings from 5pm and Saturday mornings; offering online sessions via Microsoft Teams only.

Alongside my private practice, I have gained valuable experience working in both charity and university settings.

Whatever challenges you may be facing, I offer a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor working in accordance with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In 2022, I completed a Master's Degree (Level 7) in Counselling Children and Young People at Birmingham City University. My training was grounded in an integrative approach and included working therapeutically with both adults and young people.

During my training, I completed placements within schools and charitable organisations, supporting children, young people, and adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

Following qualification, I undertook specialist training in grief and bereavement counselling and worked within a bereavement charity for a year, supporting children, young people, and adults experiencing loss.

Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor within a university, providing counselling and wellbeing support to students of all ages. This role has given me extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, perfectionism, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, and life transitions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
