About me

You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns of self-doubt, struggling with low mood, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems for everyone else. Perhaps you've spent a long time coping on your own, putting the needs of others first, or trying to meet expectations until something no longer feels sustainable.

I work with adults aged 18 and over, supporting people through whatever they may be experiencing or struggling with. Whether you're facing a specific challenge, feeling overwhelmed, or simply have a sense that something isn't quite right, therapy offers a space to explore your experiences at your own pace. Alongside my private practice, I work as a counsellor within a university setting, supporting people navigating academic pressures, work-related stress, major life changes, and the uncertainty that can come with different stages of life.

I also have experience supporting neurodivergent adults, including those who are formally diagnosed and those who identify as neurodivergent. Some clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from masking, overwhelmed by everyday demands, or caught in cycles of overthinking and self-criticism. Others simply want a space where they don't have to explain or justify how they experience the world. Whatever your experience, my aim is to offer a space where you feel accepted and understood.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some have a clear understanding of what they would like help with, while others simply know that something doesn't feel right anymore. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

My approach is integrative, relational, and collaborative. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to the way I work, as I believe meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.

Together, we can explore the patterns, beliefs, and ways of coping that may once have helped you but are now keeping you feeling stuck. Therapy can help you develop greater self-understanding, navigate difficult experiences with more compassion, and move towards a way of living that feels more authentic, balanced, and sustainable.

Finding the right counsellor is important. If what you've read resonates with you, I'd be happy to arrange an initial conversation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor working in accordance with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In 2022, I completed a Master's Degree (Level 7) in Counselling Children and Young People at Birmingham City University. My training was grounded in an integrative approach and included working therapeutically with both adults and young people.

During my training, I completed placements within schools and charitable organisations, supporting children, young people, and adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

Following qualification, I undertook specialist training in grief and bereavement counselling and worked within a bereavement charity for a year, supporting children, young people, and adults experiencing loss.

Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor within a university, providing counselling and wellbeing support to students of all ages. This role has given me extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, perfectionism, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, and life transitions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
