About me
A Calm, Experienced Space to Pause and Regain Perspective
Life can feel challenging, and it is not always easy to make sense of what you are going through. When things become confusing, heavy, or simply too much to manage on your own, counselling offers a steady place to pause. I provide a calm, confidential, and completely non-judgmental space where you can talk openly. You are welcome to bring whatever is on your mind nothing is too small, too complex, or out of bounds.
Deep Experience Across All Age Groups
I have the training, capability, and broad life experience to work with a wide range of concerns. Alongside my private practice, I bring over 25 years of experience working with adults, young people in their early twenties, and children. I welcome clients of all ages and have a particular interest in supporting those facing:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Bereavement and Loss
- Loneliness and Isolation
- Low Self-Esteem and Confidence Issues
How We Will Work Together: My aim is to create a secure environment where you feel comfortable to gradually open up, regain perspective, and develop a more positive outlook. I listen with deep empathy but will gently challenge you when appropriate, helping you move forward with optimism.
Take the Next Step: Feel free to call or email me today to set up an initial chat. To find out more about my practice, you can also access my website using the link on this page.
Training, qualifications & experience
Taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to navigate it alone. I believe that effective therapy is built on a real, positive, and practical human connection.
With over 25 years of experience working in secondary schools, alongside a rich background of personal life experiences, I offer a down-to-earth and understanding space. I know that life can be complex, and I bring genuine warmth, patience, and care to my work with clients.
Although I am person-centred trained, I use an integrative approach. This simply means I adapt my methods to suit your individual needs. Together, we will look at what brought you to therapy. From there, we will discuss the best ways to support you, while gently encouraging you to move forward and feel better.
Because everyone is different, I work integratively to ensure your counselling matches your unique situation.
First Steps: We begin by looking at the specific issues that brought you to counselling.
Moving Forward: We will talk about a helpful mix of support and gentle challenge to help you feel better and reach your goals.
Pace & Creativity: If talking about things feels hard, we can use creative tools to help you express yourself.
I will always work patiently and entirely at your own pace. You are in control of the speed of our sessions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
When you are navigating a difficult time, you need a safe space and a steady, experienced practitioner to guide you. I am a highly qualified counsellor with over 25 years of experience in education and mental health. I work out of a room in Central Morningside. The space is warm, quiet, professional and discreet.
Alongside my private practice, which I have successfully run for over six years, I manage a school counselling service for a major national children’s charity. In this role, I provide clinical supervision to other counsellors, lead psycho-educational groups for primary-aged children, and deliver individual face-to-face therapy.
My background also includes extensive work with adults as a volunteer counsellor with the Pastoral Foundation, alongside a wealth of personal life experience. This broad clinical history means I offer a calm, grounded, and deeply reliable environment for clients of all ages.
