About me
Hello! My name is Klaudia. I'm a bilingual (Polish & English) psychotherapist based in Hull, East Yorkshire, England but also working online. I come from Poland where I grew up and went to schools.
I have wanted to be a psychologist/ therapist for a long time but never got to become one at the time. I have always been interested in human nature. As a little girl I dreamed of being a detective, then, as a teenager, an actress. I ended up graduating from university with Master's Degree in Sociology which also interests me very much. Sociology gives me an invaluable understanding of a bigger picture, a social and cultural context to an individual problem, like generational trauma. Coming from Poland, a country that survived WWII and 40 odd years of the Communist regime, I can fully understand how such historical events can shape one's mindset and their belief system about themselves, the others and the world.
In my spare time, I love running long distances. I also enjoy listening to music (just to name a few of my favourites: The National, Róisín Murphy or Pearl Jam) and various podcasts on true crime, society & culture and mental health topics. I have three lovely cats.
Training, qualifications & experience
Apart from being a sociologist, I'm a qualified Level 7 psychotherapist in Integrative & Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, in the process of accreditation with the UKCP. I am also an accredited member with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This register is accredited with the Professional Standards Authority which assures you my work is to a high standard.
In my therapist tool box, next to my invaluable Transactional Analysis tools, I also have some useful ones gained from a 200h training on Solution-Based Brief Therapy.
I have a 4-year experience in working with clients with eating disorders, anxiety & depression, complex trauma or autism & ADHD.
Additionally, I have worked in the British education system (secondary and primary) for the past 16 years, working with and emotionally supporting young children and teenagers. As a therapist, in my private practice, I choose to work with adults, 18 years and above.
