About me

Do you feel burdened by past experiences or are you facing new obstacles that are making you feel stuck? Maybe you don’t know why, but things just feel heavy and overwhelming?

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling lost, overwhelmed, and alone. But you don’t have to navigate this struggle by yourself.

I'm here to help you regain your sense of control and well-being. Imagine feeling lighter, clearer, and more authentic. That’s the power of effective therapeutic counselling.

I'm committed to helping you find contentment with life and to work through whatever it is that is holding you back. My hope is that you come away knowing yourself better and feeling empowered to make decisions that feel right for you.

As a counsellor working within the BACP ethical framework, I treat every client in the same way I would wish to be treated; with the utmost sensitivity, care, genuineness, compassion, and confidentiality. You can trust that you will be heard without judgment.

I specialise in trauma and sexual violence, working with young people aged 12-18 as well as all adults. I have worked with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, attachment, depression, OCD, Autism/ADHD, relationship struggles, PTSD, self esteem/confidence, stress, domestic abuse, sexual harm, bipolar, dissociation, psychosis, traumatic experiences both in childhood and adulthood.

Therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach; everyone is unique and individual in their experiences. I take a person-centred approach, which means that I keep you at the heart of our work. Whether you need short-term, focused support for specific issues or longer-term, in-depth exploration of deeper struggles, I’m here to meet you where you are and support you in reaching your hopes for the future.

Training, qualifications & experience

Current employment:

  • I currently work for two charities - one specialises supporting children and young people who have experience trauma. The other charity supports survivors of sexual violence and sexual trauma.

I have previously worked in a secondary school as a Therapeutic Counsellor.

I have a good understanding of secondary trauma and burn out which can be experienced by front line professionals, this experience is not to be minimised and can have a huge impact on our personal lives.

I have experience working with adolescents who have been looked after by the local authority (LAC/CIC) as well as adults who have left the care system.

Qualifications

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Undergraduate Degree BSc Psychology
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

Ongoing CPD (continuing personal development)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
