About me
My name is Katie and I decided to train as a counsellor to give something back to those in need of someone to listen to. For some people they turn to counselling to try to tackle something specific but for many they just need someone to talk to. I can support whatever your needs are through listening and providing a safe environment.
Having experienced my own struggles some years ago I decided to explore how I could then help others and embarked on my journey to become a counsellor. By talking through my problems and worries, I was able to find ways to move forwards by finding coping mechanisms that worked for me and now I would like to help others do the same.
There are a number of reasons that you may seek counselling such as feelings of anxiety, depression, loss or just because you are feeling low and that you need someone to talk to. I am on hand to help with whatever you need to talk through.
As a person centred counsellor I will provide a space that allows you to talk through anything that you feel may help you. Person centred counselling means that sessions will be led by you and I will help you find the answers that you are looking for by providing a safe environment.
Sometimes I will use creative tools to help you express how you are feeling. We will discuss together how you are comfortable working.
I work with children between the age of 12-18 and adults in a space in Evesham. I have chosen to work with children to help provide them with a safe space to open up about their struggles. Sometimes they just need to talk to someone who isn't a parent and who isn't a teacher. Looking back I wish I'd had someone to talk to when I was a teen.
I have chosen to work with adults because as an adult I had my own struggles and through conversation with my own counsellor I was able to find some answers and find coping mechanisms that worked for me. I would like the opportunity to help others do the same.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
