About me
Sometimes we reach a point where something in life no longer feels or fits quite as it did.
It might follow a loss, or change in a relationship, a shift in work or family life, or simply a growing sense that you are at a crossroads and need to make sense of what is happening.
My work is particularly drawn to these thresholds in life - change, grief and loss, relationships, questions of identity and purpose, the transitions of midlife, children leaving home, and the sometimes uncomfortable place of something ending and something else beginning.
You don't necessarily need to know what needs to change, or even be able to put into words what feels wrong, that can be part of our journey together.
I work from a psychosynthesis perspective. At its heart, this means seeing you as a whole person rather than a collection of problems to be solved. Alongside exploring what is difficult now and what might have shaped you in the past, there is also room to consider what matters to you, and who you are becoming.
For me, counselling is about bringing into awareness what is happening within you, understanding the different parts of your experience, and finding a way forward that feels more connected to who you are.
I offer online counselling to adults across the UK. If something here resonates with you, please reach out to begin the conversation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their Ethical Framework.
My core counselling qualification is a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. This is an integrative and transpersonal approach that considers the whole person and recognises our capacity for growth and development alongside the difficulties we experience.
I have continued to develop my practice through further training and professional development in grief, somatic attachment, and spiritual development.
Alongside my counselling experience, I bring more than 30 years of professional experience working with people and organisations, including leadership roles in Learning and Development. This has given me an understanding of the impact that work, career change, organisational change and questions of professional identity can have on our wider sense of self.
My work has included individual counselling, coaching, and providing counselling within a corporate setting following bereavement and loss.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My approach is warm, relational, and curious. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of the work, and that finding someone you feel comfortable talking to really matters.
There is room in our work for the practical realities of life as well as the deeper questions that can sometimes emerge around purpose, spirituality and meaning. You don't need to hold any particular beliefs for us to explore those together.
