About me

Hi my name is Juliet Jones and I am a person centred counsellor. I provide short and long term therapy. I am a member of the BACP ethical framework professional body. You can experience counselling with me Face to face or by telephone or online Zoom meetings.

Person centred therapy is a client led practice where you can decide the pace and subjects you feel ready to talk about. I will provide a confidential, safe space as to allow you to discuss your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental, warm and compassionate place.

Secondary I also have training in Meditation and Clinical Hypnotherapy (optional service). I have experience in counselling within issues with addiction, panic attacks, anxiety depression, self esteem, grief and loss, relationships and past trauma. I also have had clients with issues in the work place.

I also currently see clients in residential rehabilitation for addictions and a day centre for active addiction and referrals for general mental health issues.

I believe that training is ongoing and that is why I have attended many seminars with world renowned experts in their field of dealing with trauma, relationships and embodiment healing.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds to promote Diversity and inclusion.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Person Centred Counselling Level 4.

As well as my private practice I currently work for Adferiad which includes working with clients at Parkland Place a residential rehabilitation for many types of addiction. I also work at the Dawn Centre which helps clients with general mental health and addiction.

Working with these clients covers a very large scope of struggles not just the addiction itself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

A Non-Judgemental Space to Share Your Story

Can I ask you something? When was the last time you were able to tell your story of your life's challenges with no fear of being judged. Were you able to tell it without interruptions, opinions or well meaning advice? This is where counselling can be a non-judgemental space for you to talk about your experiences because lets face it, no-one else knows what it's like to be you. By having your experiences being heard with an empathetic ear, together we can explore and navigate a way of moving through any pain or suffering you are feeling.

 Psychoeducation, Techniques, and Empowerment

Many of my clients benefit by including psycho education in our sessions. This can include how the brain works so you can understand why you are feeling the way you do. This can be very empowering and help you feel that you you have autonomy of how you want to direct your thoughts and feelings.

I can also train you on many breathing techniques for anxiety and stress and many of my clients have also enjoyed guided meditations which has left them feeling calmer and have more ability how they react to strong feelings. These are all optional and you can decide whether you may benefit from.
