About me
I offer a warm, empathic, ethical, and non‑judgmental therapeutic space to explore those moments when anxiety, mood changes, or confusing relational dynamics perhaps leave you feeling stuck and asking yourself why do I feel this way?
I work with people who experience that feeling of stuckness. With people whose daily stresses and worries become overwhelming and difficult to manage. With people where a personal or professional situation has taken root and it feels impossible to see how to it can be resolved. You will have space (where you can talk freely without worrying about being criticised or judged) to calm an overwhelmed mind, to look at why you're feeling the way you are and then together, we can find practical ways of moving forwards.
Sessions are held weekly, providing a steady rhythm and secure framework for reflection, awareness, and growth.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor offering in-person sessions at my practice in central Tunbridge Wells. I also work as a counsellor in a local not-for-profit counselling service. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I had a first career in the corporate world so I am able to relate to the demands and stresses and strains that can bring.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer an initial assessment at a reduced rate of £45.00 lasting around 75 - 90 minutes to give us time to talk together about what has brought you to counselling. Then you can decide if you feel comfortable working with me and I can assess whether I can be helpful to you. There is no obligation to proceed beyond this point.

Further information
My room is on the ground floor but has concrete steps up to the front door, thus making it inaccessible for wheelchair users. I would be happy to discuss alternative options where an accessible space is needed.
