Counselling Bury St Edmunds Joanna Clark BA (hons) MBACP
I am a qualified, BACP registered counsellor based in the centre of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk where I offer clients a safe, ethical, confidential and supportive therapeutic relationship in which explore their lives and the parts that may be difficult, confusing or painful. I am experienced working with clients on a range of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, loss and bereavement, self-esteem and self-development, relationship difficulties, trauma and domestic and sexual abuse.
I will always try to see clients when it suits them! Knowing how hard it can to make time during a busy day, I offer flexible hours including pre-work, evening and Saturday morning appointments.
I provide: Long-term or short-term face-to-face sessions, flexible working hours, discounted fees for students and Skype/telephone counselling by arrangement.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I offer the initial session at a reduced rate so we can discuss whether counselling is right for you and whether I am the right person for you to work with. This is a chance for us to meet and talk with no obligation or pressure for book further sessions unless you wish to.
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, making it hard to make sense of things, to move on, or make decisions. Counselling sessions are your time to talk of your personal problems at your own pace and an opportunity for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, fears and concerns. My goal is to support you as you gain a much deeper insight yourself, and to resolve any difficulties or complexities that you might be experiencing. I will guide you to look after yourself emotionally and aid you to develop strategies to help you cope in future.
