I am an integrative counsellor offering 1-2-1 counselling in Cheltenham and Gloucester for adults and young people aged 14 and upwards. I am BACP registered and work in accordance with their ethical framework and code of practice. I offer a warm, safe and friendly environment in which you can explore any issues, feelings and emotions that you may be struggling with. The sessions are client led and go at a pace to suit you so that you feel comfortable.
Counselling is a process which can be brief and time limited or open ended. This depends on the nature of the subject matter that you bring and the pace that you wish to go. I'm happy to discuss any questions or concerns that you have in an introductory telephone call prior to meeting, so that you can make an informed decision as to whether I am the right person to work with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and have a Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling Level 5 (University of Gloucestershire) as well as a Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People Level 5 (CPCAB) achieved whilst working with TIC+ (Teens in Crisis). I have a Certificate in Counselling Skills and Child Psychology. I have significant experience working with suicide ideation and prevention, safeguarding and self-harm. I undertake frequent continued professional development training which covers subject matters such as complex trauma, abuse, gender dysphoria, depression and anxiety.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
