About me

Hello!

I’m Jo, a therapist based in the heart of Manchester.

I’m passionate about creating a warm, welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. With over 15 years’ experience in talking therapy, I also enjoy supervising both trainee and qualified therapists.

I am trained and qualified in EMDR trauma therapy, which I integrate into my work where appropriate to support clients in processing difficult or overwhelming experiences.

I have a particular interest in supporting individuals facing life-limiting diagnoses and in end-of-life work, alongside my role as an end-of-life doula. I also work with people experiencing anxiety and confidence-related challenges.

My practice is neuroaffirming, and I welcome neurodivergent clients. I aim to offer a space that respects and supports different ways of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world.

I understand that choosing to seek support is a significant step. What you share with me is important, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in your journey. My aim is to offer a safe, compassionate space where you can tell your story, and together we can begin to make sense of it.

I offer sessions in person in Manchester, as well as online and by phone. I recommend arranging a short initial chat so we can see if we feel like the right fit.

I look forward to connecting with you.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
