About me

As are many of us, you may be finding life challenging at the moment and need a space where you can feel less alone and have an opportunity to talk through some of the difficulties you may be experiencing or to work through some emotional issues.  I offer counselling either via Zoom or face to face in a safe and confidential setting where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and together we can find a way of moving forward.  My aim is to support you to gain  a greater understanding of yourself and to find your own strengths that will enable you to make the changes that are important to you and to find more fulfilment and satisfaction in your life.

Depending on what your difficulties are and what you may want to change, as an integrative practitioner I draw from a range of psychological and practical approaches to find the most suitable way of working with you.  You may find it helpful to have just a few counselling sessions to focus on a specific problem and to obtain some immediate support or you may wish to explore some longer standing issues in more depth which we can do over a longer period of time.

The range of issues that I can support you with include stress, anxiety and depression, relationship and communication difficulties, problems at work, dealing with the impact of early trauma and abuse, low self-esteem, bereavement and grief and understanding feelings of anger.

If you have any queries and would like to discuss arranging an appointment, please can me on 07887 354705 or send me an email.  I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with 8 years' experience of working in counselling and psychotherapy services, including in the community-based and voluntary sector services (Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service and Ealing Abbey Counselling Service and in private practice).  I hold a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute in West London.

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP) and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.  I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
