About me
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Let's see if I can help you? Life can be challenging, especially in today’s fast-paced world so it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and isolated. Sometimes, all we need is to be truly heard to find the strength to address our issues. Through my own life experiences and subsequent counselling, I have developed a profound belief in the benefits of talking therapies.
Maybe there is a specific issue or issues you want to work through, or areas of your life you would like to explore and change. It may simply be that you see counselling as part of your self-care.
As a Person-Centred counsellor the focus is on YOU, the client and the relationship we build. Whatever your issues this versatile approach will help you to explore and find your own solutions supporting the belief that you have the capacity for your own growth and self-understanding.
I can help you delve into better self-awareness in a safe, accepting environment where you can explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences without judgement.
I offer an initial 20 minute contact to see if you feel we can work together. Sessions are then 50 minutes, either face-to-face, on-line or 'walk and talk in nature'.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained and qualified in the Person Centred Approach and have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
As well as working in private practise I have worked in a day hospice dealing with clients who have life threatening or life changing diagnoses. Some of my areas of experience include anxiety, depression, self image, relationship issues. bereavement, health issues, anger management. We will work with whatever issues you chose to bring to your session.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
