About me

Hi, I am Jennifer, an experienced and qualified Counsellor.

I originally worked as teacher for 18 years and taught in a variety of settings over the years, including Independent Schools, public schools and special schools.
Counselling is my passion, speaking from personal experience, Counselling has enabled me to move forward from grief, trauma, stress and anxiety during difficult times.

The realisation of how powerful Counselling was for me subsequently led me to leave the teaching profession and retrain as a Counsellor.

People often ask me what Counselling do I offer. I am an integrative counsellor which means that whilst I specialise in the Person Centred Method, I have the skills to use other models of therapy such as CBT, Gestalt Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy depending on the needs of the client.

Using the Person Centred Approach means that you are the most important person in my room. My relationship with you is key to our success as we work together to understand your issues.  The treatment plan I create for you is specific to you and the issues that you bring to my Therapy Room.

Our Initial non-obligation Consultation session enables you to take that first step, which I know can be challenging.

If you are still unsure of taking that first step, ask yourself if you have experienced any of the following;

Having unexpected mood swings, undergoing a significant life change, withdrawing from things that previously brought you happiness, feeling isolated or alone despite having people around, feeling a loss of control, strained relationships, using alcohol as a coping mechanism or having feelings about self harm. These are just some of the reasons why clients have came to see me.

Whatever your reason is for seeking Counselling, even if you are not sure yet, you can be assured of a warm welcome without obligation as the timing has to be right for you.

My Therapy Room is located within Paxcroft Farm off a small courtyard in Trowbridge. There is on site parking.

Finally, if you are reading this because you feel you need help, you have made the first step in changing things. I hope to meet you soon.
