About me
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my page.

Sometimes life is challenging, and we can feel overwhelmed. By taking this first step towards your recovery and reaching out, feeling better can start here.
Maybe you feel anxious, without understanding why.
Perhaps you have experienced a bereavement, feel lonely and isolated and are unable to see a way through your grief.
Maybe you recognise you might have ADHD or ASD and are unsure how to manage this new information and what it may mean for you.
Are work related stresses affecting your family or partnership, making these relationships unmanageable.
Perhaps your racing thoughts keep you awake at night and you would like more peace.
Is your age or stage of life disappointing you or not what you expected.
All of these situations (and many more) can be very difficult to manage alone.
If these sound familiar, you may notice the negative impacts in other areas of your life; like sleep, work and health. You may feel irritable and disconnected from family and friends; you may lack energy and enthusiasm for life. Perhaps you feel stuck and want to move forward.

About me:
Hi, I'm Jen and I'm passionate about the benefits of counselling.
I have learnt through my personal experience of life's hurdles and my own use of counselling that I can take control of my situation and make good choices for myself. I have over 15 years experience of working with clients and have supported many people through their challenging times.
My experience offers me an insight into your problems:
I know the importance of understanding why problems exist and how to address these by building healthier communication.
I understand the impact of feelings of low self-worth, bruised confidence and low self esteem.
I support clients to explore their feelings and responses, in order to make informed decisions.
I help clients to recognise their own needs and understand how they might meet them.
About counselling....
I will offer you a calm space with curiosity for you to explore and make choices with confidence.
I will support you to recognise your inner strength and resilience.
I will support you to discover your true self and work through any issues that may be holding you back.
How we will work together....
We will establish a connection built on trust and respect. Therefore, it is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed with me.
I will offer you a quiet, neutral place to explore. I will be alongside, encouraging you, as you lead the sessions at your own pace. As an Humanistic counsellor I will be with you as you discover about yourself from your own perspective and life experience.
Our sessions....
I am offering sessions in person in my private practice just outside Uckfield, East Sussex where I have a comfortable, cosy, therapy room.
I am offering online sessions via Google Meet or WhatsApp and telephone sessions, therefore I can work with you in any location. .
We will plan to work together weekly at a mutually convenient time and day. I offer short term (6-12 weeks) and longer term therapy.
Next steps....
Please feel free to call me for an informal chat or text, WhatsApp or email me to arrange a 30 minute initial complementary consultation where you can tell me what brings you here. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
