About me

I am experienced in working with: Anxiety, depression, bereavement, work stresses, family and relationship issues, ADHD, Autism, menopause, fertility issues, building self confidence and self-esteem.

Contact me if this sounds like you, I can help. If you would like an initial informal chat, please call me or message/whatsapp me and I can call you back.

I am Jen and I am passionate about counselling, its effectiveness and the transformative nature it can have on our lives. I am a warm and friendly experienced qualified Humanistic Integrative counsellor, registered and accredited  with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

About counselling....

As a Humanistic counsellor I believe that you are the expert on yourself and have the ability to grow and heal and reach your full potential. I believe by looking inward and tuning in to your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and offering yourself compassion, you have the ability to work through any issues that may be holding you back and discover your inner strength and resilience. I believe you hold the answers to your difficulties and we will explore them together

How we will work together....

Establishing a therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect is essential in our work together. Therefore, it is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed with me. I will offer you a gentle, safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to explore and work through the issues that bring you to counselling at this time to gain greater self-awareness and autonomy. I will listen empathically whist always being thoughtful, mindful and respectful of you. I will attune to you and gain understanding of you from your own perspective and life experience, whilst trusting your individual thoughts and processes. I will be alongside you as you lead the sessions at your own pace. As an Integrative counsellor I will offer a sound framework of blended theories to work with you at rediscovering yourself.

Our sessions....

I am offering face-to-face sessions in my private practice in Eastbourne town centre where I have a comfortable, cosy, confidential space for whatever you choose to explore.

Additionally I am offering zoom and telephone sessions, therefore I can work with any location within the United Kingdom. If you are inexperienced with zoom I can offer you instructions on how to download and join our zoom session. If we work together on the telephone I will call you.

Having a quiet, comfortable, confidential space for your counselling is important and we can discuss this at our initial session.

We will plan to work together weekly or fortnightly at a mutually convenient time and day. I offer short term (6-12 weeks) and longer term therapy.

Next steps....

Please feel free to call me for an informal chat or text, WhatsApp or email me to arrange a 30 minute initial complementary consultation to discuss what you are hoping to achieve from counselling. Then if you would like to, we will arrange further sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
