About me

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to navigate.  Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties or low self-esteem.  Or maybe you can't quite put your finger on what's wrong, but you know something doesn't feel right.

Whatever has brought you here, I'd like to offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable talking openly and being yourself.

I'm a person-centred counsellor, and I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and change, even when things feel difficult.  My approach is grounded in empathy, warmth and genuine understanding.  I want you to feel heard, accepted and understood, without feeling that you have to hide how you're really feeling or have all the answers.

I believe you're the expert on your own life.  My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as we explore what's going on for you.  We can take things at your pace, giving you the time and space to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, without pressure or judgement.

My approach is tailored to you, your circumstances and what you need to achieve fron counselling.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step.  If you're considering counselling, you're welcome to get in touch and we can talk about what has brought you here and whether working together might feel right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Person-centred counselling places you at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.  I aim to provide a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, knowing that you will be listened to and accepted for who you are.

You don't need to have all the answers or even know where to begin.  Together, we can explore whatever feels important to you, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and find your own way forward.
