About me

Are you juggling life's demands, everyone else's needs and expectations leaving you no time for yourself? It is so easy to lose touch with what you need to thrive. Instead, you may be living with anxiety or depression, stress or physical illness, all of which is telling you that something needs to change. Telling you that you need care too.

You may have already identified what is causing the discomfort and pain, such as past trauma, conflict at work or relationship issues at home. Or you may have a general sense of unease that things just can't carry on  as they are.

Whatever brings you here, you are not alone.

I understand your struggle to balance all of your competing pressures because I have lived that struggle when the thought taking time out  to feel truly heard and supported seemed impossible and even thinking about finding help was overwhelming.

But you have taken the first  step just by being here, so what is next?

By working together, we will take time to understand how your past experiences, emotions and relationships have shaped your life. From there, we can gently begin to untangle the patterns that no longer serve you to make way for change, healing and hope.

As an integrative and trauma-informed counsellor,  I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches specifically tailored to your needs . By creating a space where you feel safe, understood and empowered to grow at your own pace, you will begin to identify what needs to change in the present to enable you to reshape your future.

Taking the step of contacting someone is daunting and finding the right counsellor for you is a big decision. To help you decide if the way I work is comfortable for you, I offer an initial 20 minute phone call. I offer both online and face to face hourly sessions.

Please have a look at my website and, when you are ready, do give me a call or  drop me a Whatsapp or an email.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work both at a local Rape Crisis centre and in private practice specialising in how trauma and stress impacts both mind and body causing anxiety, depression and health related issues.

I hold a B.A.(Hons) Psychology degree, Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Adult MHFA England and I am registered with British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
