About me
It can be so difficult, just being human. We struggle and suffer as a natural response to the challenges we face in life: when our needs go unmet, when we experience loss, adversity or trauma, when we suppress or ignore our feelings, thoughts and desires, or feel disconnected from others and from our own authentic selves.
If you are considering counselling, you are probably experiencing some form of difficulty in your life right now. You may be struggling with relationship issues, a lack of meaning or purpose in life, or be living with anxiety, depression, guilt or shame, all influenced by your own unique life experience and context.
I offer a space where you can feel safe to explore and express yourself without fear of criticism, judgement or rejection. I welcome all parts of you, including those you may find difficult to accept in yourself, your vulnerabilities and shadow parts. Working in a trauma-informed way, I approach your neurobiology and nervous system gently and respectfully, to help you manage symptoms of distress.
Some ways we might work together:
- Collaboratively setting and working towards your personal, professional or therapeutic goals.
- Paying attention to your experiences, thoughts and feelings, to uncover patterns and triggers.
- Noticing what your emotions and body are telling you about what is important, and what you might need to do or change in your life.
- Exploring and understanding the underlying causes of your emotional responses, which can include past experiences and core beliefs.
- Becoming more familiar with your own self-protection systems, helping you develop healthier emotional responses and coping strategies.
- Identifying specific practices to support you beyond therapy.
- Developing a greater sense of agency and empowerment in your life.
Finding a therapist to work with is a very personal thing. If my approach speaks to you, I would love to hear from you. In any case, I hope you find a therapist or approach that aligns with you.
I always respond to enquiries, so if you have not heard back from me within a few days, please check your junk mail.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
