About me

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or a difficult life transition. You may also find yourself repeating patterns that you would like to understand and change.

I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is at the heart of counselling. I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, accepted and understood, without judgement. Together, we can explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you.

I am particularly interested in how our past and present relationships can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others and respond to life’s challenges. I will not tell you what to do, but will work alongside you to help you gain greater understanding, explore different perspectives and find your own way forward.

Alongside talking therapy, I also offer Solution Focused Hypnotherapy as a complementary approach where appropriate. This can help clients who wish to work towards specific goals, build confidence and develop more helpful ways of responding to difficulties.

I work with adults experiencing issues including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship challenges, loss, self-esteem difficulties, identity concerns and life changes.

I offer flexible session lengths, with both shorter and longer sessions available depending on your individual needs and preferences.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a background in education and have worked with people from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I aim to offer a calm, down-to-earth and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

I hold an MA in Childhood Studies, an MSc in Psychology and a PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the BACP, fully insured and DBS checked.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
