About me
I studied at the Karuna Institute training in Core Process Psychotherapy and graduated MA in Buddhist Psychotherapy Practice. I see clients in Glasgow.
Core Process Psychotherapy, "established in 1982, is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy training programs. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice underpin this work. Teachings are drawn from different Buddhist sources and lineages to create a broad vehicle for the training of psychotherapists, which is integrated with Western personality theory, psychodynamics and psychotherapy skill."
Please see my website for full details of what I offer.
I am accredited with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I offer supervision.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified in medicine and worked as a general practitioner and as a consultant. I retired some years ago, became a windsurfing instructor and now I am concentrating on my personal development and training as a psychotherapist. In 2001, I voluntarily gave up being a registered medical practitioner and now concentrate on psychotherapy. A life-long passion has been performing early music. I enjoy gardening and photography.
About twelve years ago I discovered Core Process Psychotherapy as a client and it had a profound effect on my life. I studied with the Karuna Institute in Devon and in 2011 I gained a post graduate MA in Buddhist Psychotherapy Practice from Middlesex University. I am accredited with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I strive to make therapy as accessible as possible for those on low incomes because all my training throughout life has been free.
I am usually able to see students and those in training for minimal or zero charge.
Further information
I study traditional Eastern practices, like mindfulness-awareness meditation, but keep up to date with Western approaches and contribute to research. In 2014 I qualified with COSCA to become a supervisor and I offer supervision.
I hope that I may offer a fresh approach to both psychotherapy and supervision. I do one to one therapy work in Glasgow but work on Zoom as we find convenient.
