About me

Dip. Therapeutic Counselling and Level 7 in CBT in Practice Skills

There are times in your life when you need a helping hand due to encountering difficulties, feeling overwhelmed and even stuck because you are struggling with a current situation. You don’t need to cope alone. I offer a safe space to allow you to speak freely and confidentially without judgement.

Hi, my name is Hope.

I am a Qualified Person-Centred Therapeutic Counsellor with CBT Practice Skills, registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. MBACP 406661.

Making the decision and taking the first step to seek counselling may feel very overwhelming, having regular sessions with a trained counsellor can support you to gain a better understanding and insight about what is going on for you.

I offer a non-judgemental, confidential space within a therapeutic setting, which can help you to develop your own coping strategies and thereby allowing you to work through your negative thought process.

There are times in our lives when we will face difficulties and challenges, which can lead to anxiety and this can be overwhelming. We may feel stuck or even find ourselves struggling with our experiences, whether currently or in the past. When faced with overwhelming problems, it can feel very isolated.

You don’t need to cope alone; I can offer you a safe space that will allow you to be heard without being judged. I am aware that it can be difficult to really voice how you are feeling but with the right support and working together, I can help you to explore your feelings and emotions, allowing you to eventually make positive changes.

Whether you need to unlock deep rooted issues, long-term issues (which you may not be aware of and can be hidden), or looking at current issues, by understanding these issues will allow you to move on with your life.

Contacting a Counsellor can be very difficult, and people will get in contact for different reasons. They may struggle with emotions issues such as trauma, depression or even anxieties, which can make it hard to pursue growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
