About me
I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist.
I have lots of experience helping men and women of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds, cope with a wide range of problems. These include: anxiety, depression, addiction, eating disorders, relationship and work issues, and the effects of bereavement, accidents and other traumatic incidents.
I am experienced at addressing short-term crises that need immediate attention and support to guide you through tough and challenging circumstances. I’m also skilled at working with people in an open-ended, longer-term way.
I have been frequently involved in the diagnosis of mental health conditions, helping people through the process of more acute and ongoing issues, such as psychosis or personality disorders.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy (IAP) and am a member of the London Arts Therapy Centre. In addition, I’m trained and experienced in CBT and EMDR, and skilled at integrating these techniques into my approach to best meet your needs. I am a member of the EMDR Association, UK and Ireland.
As an integrative arts psychotherapist, I’ve worked in private practice, within specialist therapy services, in the voluntary sector and within organisations. I am experienced at working on both a short-term and long-term basis. In all my work I strive for realistic and meaningful change within a safe, therapeutic environment.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
