About me
Hi, I’m Helena, Integrative Counsellor
I work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction, life changes, and challenges with self-worth.
Many of the people who come to see me feel stuck. You might be living with anxiety, carrying unresolved trauma, struggling in relationships, or feeling unsure about your own value and how to move forward. If this resonates with you, please know that you’re not alone. Reaching out for counselling can be the first step toward feeling more grounded, understood, and at peace.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches so our work together can be tailored to your individual needs. My style is warm, kind, and down-to-earth. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about what’s been happening in your life. Together, we can explore your experiences, make sense of difficult feelings, and understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Counselling with me isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about building a trusting relationship where you feel heard, supported, and able to create meaningful, lasting change in your life.
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to feel uncertain. If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re welcome to contact me for an initial conversation to see whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
- I am a trained Integrative Counsellor with experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges and life transitions. My training allows me to draw from different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual’s needs, creating a space for growth and healing.
- I completed a counselling placement at a women’s counselling service, where I supported women navigating life changes and personal difficulties. I also gained valuable counselling experience working within supported housing for people affected by homelessness, trauma, and addiction.
-
These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the challenges people face and the strength it takes to seek help. They’ve also shaped the way I work — bringing together emotional understanding with practical support that can make a genuine difference,
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB)
Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CPCAB)
Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) - I am a registered counsellor with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I adhere to high professional standards and ethics.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
