About me

BU Therapy

Hello and welcome to my page! I do hope you enjoy reading about my approach to therapy and get a good feel about who I am and what I can do to help you. I am very passionate about the work that I do and I believe everyone has the right to a peaceful and fulfilling life.  Is this possible?.. I think so and I would love the opportunity to help you to figure that out, whatever that means to you.   So, are things are little uncomfortable in your world right now? Have you experienced something lately that is causing you some distress? Would you like to learn some new ways to cope or manage life when it becomes overwhelming? Then keep reading see if you think I could be the right fit for you!

After being a part of the military community for over 10 years, I was in close contact with individuals suffering with post-traumatic stress; Flashbacks and nightmares, triggers such as smells, certain situations, physical sensations and crowds.  Avoiding places and always looking for an exit route. Unable to feel positive emotions, being hyper aware all the time searching for them vulnerable points and waiting for something to happen.... does any of these sound familiar?

I have seen the impacts these symptoms have on someone’s life, the anxiety, overwhelming feelings of anger and frustration, lack of sleep, relationship difficulties, substance use, isolation and sadly in some cases thought of suicide  and attempts. Of course, this is not an extensive list and these symptoms are not isolated to serving personal. A traumatic experience can happen to anyone and often looks very differently for each individual.  I treat each case as such because that's exactly what it is, unique to you!

How can I help?

Not all of these symptoms may be relevant but if any of them are, then I can help.  I work with whats going on under these symptoms....Is something stuck?  What may need to be felt and released? What is it trying to tell you? I want to help you to listen, when your voice is becoming harder to hear over the noise.

I am qualified in the rewind technique which is proven to have good results with individuals suffering with these distresses.  In addition, I have worked with clients suffering with depression and anxiety, symptoms of personality disorders; diagnosed and undiagnosed, suicidal thoughts, traumatic bereavement, domestic and sexual violence.

I want to offer you a safe space. One where you can share and unburden your stuff without feeling judged and be secure in the knowledge that our sessions are strictly confidential. Therapy is not an easy process. I want to make it as comfortable as possible whilst still challenging you to come out of your comfort zone and push through your difficulties. I am committed to helping you on your journey and will always have your best interests first. Whilst this can be a difficult process, it can also be incredibly rewarding, if you are ready, then so am I...
