About me
Hi, I’m Gynelle. I’m an integrative counsellor. People come to me for many reasons — anxiety, depression or feeling overwhelmed, navigating relationships, burnout, big life changes, or sensing a block they can’t quite name. Therapy isn’t only for major trauma; sometimes you simply need space to understand yourself, build self-esteem, unload without guilt, or find a way forward. As a millennial mother of 2 and someone caring for ageing parents, I understand the daily juggle and the emotional weight family issues can bring. Processing things as they arise can keep relationships healthy and give you room to breathe.
After almost a decade running a retail business, I’m especially passionate about supporting women in business, navigating work-related stress and microaggressions. Alongside counselling, I write a weekly houseplant column, and I often weave creative writing into my therapeutic work. It can be a gentle, grounding way to explore feelings,
make sense of a pattern, and express what’s hard to say out loud. In our sessions, I’ll meet you exactly where you are. I won’t hold you to past versions of yourself or judge how you coped. I aim to support you in reconnecting with who you are today and the person you’re becoming. If this resonates, you’re welcome to reach out.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a qualified integrative counsellor using person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches. This gives me the flexibility to shape the work around you and what you need, rather than relying on a single method. I trained with CPCAB and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
My therapeutic style is rooted in empathy, curiosity and cultural sensitivity, but it’s also informed by the twists and turns of my own life. I know what it feels like to start over in your thirties, to pivot careers, and to navigate the uncertainty and pressure that come with entrepreneurship. I ran a retail business for almost a decade, so I understand the strain, responsibility and emotional weight that can sit behind “doing well” on the outside.
I write a weekly column for The Guardian, and creative writing is something I bring into my practice as a gentle, expressive way for clients to explore their inner world. My personal experience with infertility has also deepened my understanding of loss, longing, resilience and the quiet grief many carry privately.
These threads of lived experience sit alongside my formal training but never overshadow your story. They allow me to meet clients with authenticity and a real respect for the complex paths people walk.
I’m an accredited member of the NCPS and committed to ongoing professional development and regular clinical supervision to ensure I offer safe, ethical and effective therapy.

Further information
While I welcome clients from all backgrounds, I have a particular interest in supporting women in business who are navigating the complex experiences of identity, such as motherhood, race, age, and gender, in professional settings. These overlapping aspects of who we are can profoundly affect our confidence, well-being, and how we present ourselves in both our personal and professional lives. I offer a space where we can explore those experiences together with care and understanding.
