About me

Hi and welcome to my page.

The thought of attending therapy may bring up several feelings, thoughts or experiences for you. You may be experiencing some difficulties and unsure if therapy is the space for you.  This is why you coming to Counselling Directory is the first step of your journey towards unravelling the tangles that life can bring.

My name is Grace, and I'm a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. As your counsellor, I will walk at your side along this journey and work with you in a way that is tailored to you as an individual. Therapy can be like unboxing a puzzle, sometimes not knowing where to start when we are looking at the pieces scattered in front of us. Sometimes we find we may require some support finding which pieces go where. Sometimes these pieces don't fit, and together we can find out what this brings up for us.

I can offer a safe space to share parts of you that will be seen and heard. I have worked with clients experiences including: grief, relationships, LGBTQIA+, anxiety, depression, addiction, stress, trauma and neurodivergence. My work often is in-depth, but I can work with both mid and long term therapy.

Upon our initial contact, I will suggest we arrange a non-chargeable telephone meeting of around twenty minutes to discuss your reasons coming to therapy. Upon this initial phone call, we will arrange a date and time to have an assessment. Within this assessment, I will enquire what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life; what your hopes and/or goals are for the future and review if you wish to go forward into starting sessions together. In our first session, I will provide a copy of my individual client contract for your to read, to sign and answer any questions you may have. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor. Therapy can be challenging and is not a linear process, but can be just as rewarding for the individual.

Thank you for taking the time to read the above. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
