About me
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling mentally exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, and unable to properly switch off.
Anxiety can show up in so many different ways. Overthinking. Panic. Low confidence. Anger. Burnout. Feeling disconnected from yourself. Or simply feeling like your mind is constantly running in the background.
Maybe your mind feels like it never stops. You replay conversations. Worry about things constantly. Feel emotionally drained by your own thoughts. Perhaps your anxiety is showing up as difficulty sleeping, panic attacks, irritability, low self esteem, or a constant feeling of being “on edge”.
For some people, anxiety shows up physically too. Tight chest. Racing heart. Feeling sick. Tension in the body. Exhaustion. Struggling to properly relax.
And often, it starts impacting other parts of life too. Relationships can feel harder. Work becomes overwhelming. You may find yourself withdrawing, snapping more easily, or noticing habits around drinking, eating, scrolling or staying busy starting to creep in.
A lot of the people I work with say things like:
“I can’t switch off.”
“I feel stuck in my own head.”
“I don’t even know why I feel like this.”
Sometimes anxiety can feel obvious.
Sometimes it shows up more quietly through overthinking, people pleasing, burnout, emotional overwhelm, low self esteem, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Whatever it looks like for you, it can be exhausting carrying it on your own.
About me
I’m Geri, an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and therapeutic coach working with adults online across the UK and face to face in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
My approach is warm, down to earth and psychologically informed. I combine therapy with practical tools, psychoeducation and deeper emotional work to help you understand not just what you are feeling, but why you might be feeling it.
Together we might explore:
• anxiety and panic
• overthinking
• confidence and self esteem
• work stress and burnout
• emotional overwhelm
• people pleasing
• anger and emotional reactivity
• relationship patterns
• nervous system responses
• feeling disconnected from yourself
Many of the people I work with are under pressure for a long time before they reach out for support. Often they are used to pushing through, staying busy, or trying to manage everything on their own. Therapy becomes a space where things can finally slow down enough to make sense of what is happening underneath it all.
My approach:
Being integrative means I tailor the work to you. Some sessions may focus on practical coping tools and nervous system regulation. Others may explore deeper patterns, self esteem, relationships or past experiences that still affect how you feel today. I draw from a range of approaches including psychotherapy, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work and psychoeducation, always adapting the work to what feels most helpful and supportive for you.
Clients often tell me they leave therapy feeling more calm, more self aware, more emotionally steady, and more able to trust themselves again.
Most importantly, they stop feeling alone in what they are experiencing.
I offer a free initial consultation via phone or zoom, so we can talk things through and see whether working together feels like the right fit for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Before starting Counselling, I offer a short introductory call via Telephone or Zoom. This is simply a chance to talk things through, ask any questions, and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no pressure and no expectation to decide anything straight away.
Your first counselling session is where the work begins. We’ll take time to understand what’s going on for you and what you’d like to feel different. We can also talk about how therapy might look, including whether short-term or longer-term support feels right, and we’ll review this together as we go.
