About me

Welcome to Citadel Counselling

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or simply difficult to navigate. You might be experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, stress or a sense that something isn't quite right, even if you're unsure exactly what that is.

I'm a qualified counsellor offering a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore whatever is troubling you.

I believe counselling is about more than finding quick solutions. It's an opportunity to understand yourself better, make sense of your experiences and consider different ways of looking at the challenges you're facing.

My approach

I take a collaborative, flexible and holistic approach to counselling, recognising that everyone brings their own experiences, circumstances and perspectives.

I'm interested in understanding not just what you're experiencing, but how different aspects of your life might connect. Together, we can explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships, considering how these may have developed and what might be keeping difficulties going.

My training is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which provides a useful framework for understanding difficulties and identifying opportunities for change. However, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Some people benefit from practical strategies and clear goals, while others need time and space to reflect, explore their experiences and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Often, counselling involves a combination of both.

I'll work with you to find an approach that feels meaningful and appropriate for your needs.

What can counselling help with?

People seek counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, life changes or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns.

I also have training and supervised clinical experience in working with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and distressing intrusive thoughts. I recognise how difficult these experiences can be to talk about, particularly when they involve feelings of shame, guilt or fear of being misunderstood.

You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what you want to work on before getting in touch.

Taking the first step

Beginning counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you've never spoken to a counsellor before.

Our first session provides an opportunity to discuss what's brought you here, what you'd like to gain from counselling and how we might work together.

I offer individual counselling face-to-face in Glasgow and online, with sessions lasting 50 minutes.

If you're considering counselling, please feel welcome to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Groupwork (SCQF Level 11), completed through ACT Counselling and Training Services.

My training provided a strong foundation in psychological theory, therapeutic relationships, formulation and evidence-based approaches to understanding emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Through supervised clinical practice, I have gained experience supporting people experiencing anxiety, low mood, obsessive-compulsive difficulties, relationship challenges and difficulties with confidence and self-esteem.

Although CBT forms the foundation of my formal counselling training, I approach each person as an individual rather than focusing solely on a particular model or technique.

I am a COSCA Counsellor Member, listed on the COSCA Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I also have a professional background in education, where building trusting relationships, listening carefully and supporting individuals through challenges have been central to my work.

I undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development to support ethical and effective practice.
