About me

Perhaps you've been feeling that something isn't quite right, even if you're finding it difficult to put into words. You might be experiencing anxiety that won't settle, carrying a loss that feels isolating, or finding yourself caught in relationship patterns that are hard to understand. Maybe you're struggling with feelings of not being good enough, or noticing that experiences from your past are still affecting you today. Whatever has brought you here, you don't need to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin.

If any of this resonates with you, I'd like you to know that you don't have to navigate things alone. I offer a space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted, helping you make sense of what you're experiencing at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach:

I'm Francesca, a person-centred therapist, offering online and in-person counselling to adults with evening and weekend availability.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you're not used to talking about your feelings or aren't sure where to begin. You might feel nervous about opening up or unsure what to expect. That's okay. My aim is to offer a space where you can feel safe, comfortable and accepted, without pressure or judgement. We will work together to focus on what feels most important to you, at your own pace. Rather than telling you what to do, I will support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings, helping you develop your own understanding and find a way forward that feels right for you.

I also draw on my background in Psychology to integrate an understanding of neuroscience and how our brains and bodies respond to stress, anxiety and trauma. I recognise that our experiences are not only held in our thoughts and emotions, but can also be reflected in our physical responses and nervous system. Rather than viewing what your body may be feeling as something that is wrong with you, we can begin to explore ways your body may have learned to protect you and why.

I have experience supporting neurodivergent clients and recognise that navigating a world that doesn't always accommodate or understand you can bring its own challenges. You may have spent years feeling different, misunderstood or trying to fit in, perhaps masking parts of yourself to meet others' expectations. You might be exploring your neurodivergent identity, making sense of a recent diagnosis, or trying to understand experiences that have shaped how you see yourself. I offer a space where you can explore these experiences openly, without judgement or the pressure to be anyone other than yourself. Working at your pace, we can explore what feels important to you, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your needs and your experiences.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
